New York City teens are invited to learn about careers from over thirty professionals working in the fields of fashion, industrial design, architecture, multimedia, and graphic design. Design colleges from around the country will be on hand to provide admissions and financial aid information. Meet Tim Gunn and top designers from all fields.

Tim Gunn
Tim Gunn is the Chief Creative Officer at Liz Claiborne Inc. For more than two decades he has served as Dean, Director of Admissions, and Chair of the Department of Fashion Design at Parsons The New School for Design. He is the co-host of Lifetime TV’s Project Runway and the author of Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style.

Carol Gretter, AIA
Carol Gretter is a LEED-accredited professional and works as a freelance architect providing eco-friendly design consultation, project management, and design services.

Kimberly Holden
Kimberly Holden is a partner at SHoP Architects, the 2009 National Design Award winning architecture firm. Among SHoP’s projects are The Porter House in New York City and SanLiTun in Beijing.

Kajsa Krause
Kajsa Krause is a senior designer at Rockwell Group. Born and raised in Sweden, Krause has always had a passion for architecture, interiors and fashion. She has a graduate degree in architecture.

Judith Kunoff
Judith Kunoff is the Chief Architect for New York City Transit, currently at work on the Second Avenue Subway. Kunoff also chairs the Construction Management Association of America’s national Sustainability committee.

Adam Marcus
Adam Marcus is an architect at Marble Fairbanks Architects. Recent projects include a new student center for Columbia University's Journalism School and New York and Queens Public Libraries. He teaches architecture at Columbia and Barnard.

Sergio Mercado
Creative Director of Clodagh Design, Mercado establishes the design direction of projects. He has created acclaimed interiors for the W Hotel and the Caledonia Condominium, and for many other residences and resorts.

Rita Saikali
Rita Saikali is a Designer at Samoo Architecture PC, and the new Director of Outreach and Advocacy with Architecture for Humanity. She has worked on projects for Los Angeles Unified School District, and cultural projects in South Korea.

Coren Sharples
Coren Sharples is a partner at SHoP Architects, the 2009 National Design Award winning architecture firm. Among SHoP’s projects are The Porter House in New York City and SanLiTun in Beijing.

Ransolina Sawyerr
Ransolina Sawyerr currently works in the Architecture Studio at James G. Rogers Architects in CT. She graduated in 2007 with a BS in Architecture and a Design Minor from the College of Design at the University of Minnesota.

Sara Schuster
Sara Schuster is a LEED-accredited designer for STUDIOS architecture, an international architectural firm located in SoHo. She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s School of Architecture.
Monica Valente
Monica Valente has worked with Perkins Eastman Architects, Pelli Clarke Pelli, and many other prominent firms. In 2006 she launched Women-in-Design, a career program for teenage girls who are struggling educationally.
Tom Vecchione
Tom Vecchione is a design director at Gensler, a global architecture, design, planning and consulting firm with offices in 32 locations worlwide. He has a background in urban planning and architecture.

Tucker Viemeister
Tucker Viemeister is the lab chief at Rockwell Group, heading research and development. The Lab encompasses digital interaction design, the material and image library, modeling and prototyping resources.

Maurenice Bisonó
Maurenice Bisonó is a free lance fashion designer who has worked under Jill Stewart and Anne Klein. She was the co-founder and chief designer for Vagin Pouvoir and is currently working on her own line of ready-to-wear and evening wear.
Malan Breton
Malan Breton is in his eighth season as an independent designer. Malan Catapulted into American pop culture in 2006 when he joined the season three cast of Lifetime TV's
Project Runway.
Stephen Dweck
Referred to as the "romancer of the stone," Dweck has built a unique jewelry brand based on his love for natural stones and minerals, and is currently creating a line of home products for prospective clients.
Sebastian Huff
Sebastian Huff design men's athletic apparel for Nike. He has worked with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Lance Armstrong to create innovative design solutions for athletes. He has a BA in fashion design from FIT.
Emmet McCarthy
Emmet McCarthy has designed men’s sport and dress shirts for Nautica and Wrangler and currently has a boutique located in Nolita, NYC. He was featured on season two of Bravo TV’s Project Runway.
Sebastien Mermet
Sebastien Mermet is Nike's Senior Footwear Designesr . He has designed numerous innovations including the Lunar Glide and the Zoom Victory+. He has a graduate degree from l'Ecole des Arts ets Metiers in Paris.
Rafē Totengco
Rafē Totengco is president and creative director of Rafē New York. Since the brand’s launch in 1995 it has grown to include women’s handbags, shoes, and small leather goods.
Yinan Xia
Yinan Xia is a graduate of Parsons The New School for Design with a degree in product design. She currently works as a shoe designer at Jimlar, a licensing footwear company for Coach, Calvin Klein, and Fry Boots.

Peter Alfano
Peter Alfano is a Designer at Trollbäck + Company. His focus is motion graphics and 3D animation for television and film. He has worked on projects for ESPN, TED, A&E, Nickelodeon, and MasterCard.

Mariano Desmarás
Mariano Desmarás is a multidisciplinary designer, combining his experience in both architecture and graphic design. Desmarás helped create some of the US’s most acclaimed cultural facilities, including the Museo del Barrio and the National Constitution Center.

Vincent Diga
Vince Diga is a freelance creative who produces design and illustration for print, broadcast and web. He collaborates with various motion design firms for clients such as National Geographic and NBC/Universal.

Rafael Esquer
Rafael Esquer is the principal of Alfalfa Studio in NYC, with clients including The New York Times Magazine, Nike, Björk, AIGA, Target, Scholastic, and MTV. His work is included in The Library of Congress’ poster collection.

Jesús Farcierth
Jesus Farcierth received a degree in Communication Design from Parsons The New School For Design in 2007. He now freelances for Cooper-Hewitt and the Center for Community Health and Education, Mailman School of Public Health.

Emanuela Frigerio
Emanuela Frigerio is a founding partner of C&G Partners, a New York firm that was a 2007 National Design Awards finalist. Drawing from her international experience, Frigerio’s work focuses on visual communication.

Jonathan Hoefler
Jonathan Hoefler is the founder of Hoefler & Frere-Jones, a digital type foundry in New York that specializes in the design of new typefaces. Together with Tobias Frere-Jones, he has designed over a thousand fonts.

Dennis Hwang
Dennis Hwang is the head of the Google doodle team. Doodles, the thought-provoking drawings that incorporate the Google logo on its home page, mark worldwide events and holidays.

Chakaras Johnson
Chakaras Johnson is a principal and creative director of Helen Marie Creative Partners, LLC. His work includes print, interactive, and 3-dimensional space. He is a graduate of Pratt Institute where he is now a visiting professor.

Jonathan Jackson
Jonathan Jackson is the founder of WSDIA (WeShouldDoItAll), a graphic, interactive, architecture and multi-disciplinary design studio. He has previously worked for Studio Archea in Florence, Italy and Lindy Roy in New York.

Sheri L. Koetting
Sheri Koetting is a graphic designer and co-founder of MSLK. She works with clients such as Aveda, Puff Daddy, Ralph Lauren, and Sephora. Her work has received recognition from Print magazine.

Sarah Nelson
Sarah Nelson is partner at WSDIA (WeShouldDoItAll). She graduated from Boston University with a degree in Graphic Design and has worked for Designation/Mike Quon in New Jersey and Ingredient, Inc. in Brooklyn.

Victor Newman
Victor Newman is co-founder and creative director of Freestyle Collective, a collaborative design, branding, and production studio. He is an active member of AIGA and serves on the Broadcast Design Association board.

André M. Pennycooke
André M. Pennycooke has designed and creative directed websites, interactive product demos and print campaigns for global brand leaders such as Sony, AT&T, and IBM. He is a graduate of the Cooper Union.

Jared Schiffman
Jared Schiffman is a designer at Potion Design, a design and technology firm specializing in interactive installations using computer science and graphics. He is a graduate of the MIT Media Lab and teaches at NYU.

Nigel Sielegar
Nigel is a senior designer at alfalfa studio. He holds a graduate degree from the Designer as Author program at SVA. Nigel has worked in Chicago at Firebelly and Motorola.

Georgianna Stout
Georgianna Stout is founding partner and creative director at 2x4. She recently completed a branding, identity, retail and environmental program for an exhibition of Nike’s 100 design innovations shown in Beijing China during the Olympics.
Scott Stowell
Scott Stowell is the proprietor of Open, an independent design studio that uses design to challenge the ways that we look, read, and think. He is the winner of the 2008 National Design Award for Communication Design.

Remco Vloon
Originally from the Netherlands, Vloon is the Design Director at the Nike Headquarters for the Global Basketball division. He works on consumer facing projects that define the face of basketball in the market place.

David Vogler
David Vogler is an Executive Creative Director who has provided creative leadership for NBC Universal, MTV, Nickelodeon, AOL, and Marvel Entertainment. Vogler was part of the team that created Hulu.com, the award-winning video content site.

Dror Benshetrit
In 2002, Dror Benshetrit founded Studio Dror, a New York-based multidisciplinary design company specializing in product design. His work has received considerable praise and awards from the design community.

Russell Blanchard
Originally from London, Blanchard attended De Montfort University, where he won the Audi Design award for Progressive Product Design. He is now Senior Industrial Designer for Smart Design, where he designs everything from medical devices to consumer electronics.

Brian Chui
Originally from Hong Kong, Chui worked as a graphic designer before coming to the U.S. He is now an Industrial Designer at Smart Design. Brian is fascinated by design’s ability to improve people’s lives.

Mark Goetz
Mark Goetz has designed more than seventy chairs and products used in locations such as President Clinton’s Harlem office and Harvard University. Goetz founded TZ Design, and is a full-time professor at Pratt Institute.

Diana B. Sierra
As an industrial design consultant, Sierra has worked with Smart Design, Arnell group, Curve ID, B. Robinson and Playtex. She recently started teaching product innovation and design for sustainability at the “SENA” in Colombia.

Angela Yeh
Angela Yeh founded Yeh Ideology after ten years of recruiting for industrial design firms. Following her completion of the Masters Program at Pratt Institute, she worked as an industrial designer.
